My Story: Struggling with Procrastination, Overwhelm & Finding My Way Back

adhd entrepreneurs consistency procrastination productivity Jan 27, 2025

πŸ’‘ For years, I thought I was just ‘bad’ at consistency. Turns out, I was just using the wrong approach.

The Struggle Was Real

I can’t even count how many times I told myself, “This time will be different.”

I’d wake up with the best intentions. I’d make a to-do list, set goals, even time-block my day like all the “productivity experts” said to.

But by noon?

I was either drowning in decision fatigue, spinning in overthinking, or completely shutting down.

Instead of checking things off my list, I’d scroll, avoid, or jump between random tasks—feeling busy but never actually making progress.

It wasn’t that I didn’t want to take action. I just felt stuck in a cycle of:

🚨 Procrastinate → Feel Guilty → Overthink → Try to Do It All → Burn Out → Repeat.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to break free from it.

The Cost of Staying Stuck

At first, I brushed it off as just a “bad habit.”

But over time, it started costing me more than I realized.

❌ I missed opportunities—because I didn’t follow through in time.
❌ I felt like a fraud—because I knew what to do, but wasn’t doing it.
❌ I was constantly overwhelmed—because everything felt urgent, yet nothing was actually moving forward.

And the worst part? I started believing that maybe I just wasn’t meant to be successful.

Maybe I wasn’t “disciplined enough.”
Maybe I wasn’t “cut out” for the kind of success I wanted.

And that belief? It kept me playing small for way too long.

The Breakthrough Moment

At some point, I got tired of my own excuses.

I stopped asking, “Why can’t I just be more disciplined?” and started asking, “What if I’m just approaching this the wrong way?”

And that single question changed everything.

I realized:
βœ… I didn’t need to “try harder”—I needed to work with my brain, not against it.
βœ… I didn’t need to “get more motivated”—I needed systems that made consistency easier.
βœ… I didn’t need to do more—I needed to focus on what actually moved the needle.

That’s when I started experimenting.

I tested different routines, structures, and accountability methods—but in a way that actually worked for me.

Slowly, things started shifting.

Instead of setting unrealistic goals and feeling like a failure, I focused on small wins that built momentum.
Instead of overloading my schedule, I created ADHD-friendly systems that kept me on track.
Instead of relying on motivation, I learned how to show up consistently, no matter what.

And that’s when everything changed.

What’s Different Now (The System That Works)

When I finally figured out how to show up consistently, my entire business transformed.

βœ”οΈ I stopped second-guessing myself.
βœ”οΈ I created predictable income (hello, 6-figures!).
βœ”οΈ I built a sustainable business—without burnout.

That’s when I knew I had to share what I’d learned.

That’s why I created The Six-Figure Show-Up Formula.

Not as another “productivity hack” that only works for neurotypical brains…
Not as another one-size-fits-all system that leaves you feeling like a failure…

But as a proven, ADHD-friendly approach to building consistency—so you can actually follow through and take action, every single day.
