If you feel like you’re almost to your wits it and ready to give up, how are you sleeping? I get it, I have a toddler and a newborn if you are sleeping it’s probably not much. Even though it feels hard right now to make sleep a priority, I highly encourage you to make it a priority.

I know you want to be a superwoman and be the one who does it all while keeping her sanity intact. But the reality is this – you don’t have to do it all, you don’t have to do it perfectly, and you definitely don’t have to do it alone. I know that may sound hard, asking for help and not doing things perfectly, but superwoman knows her limits and when to ask for help

  • Let some things need to go undone.
  • Let go of some expectations or responsibilities for a season
  • Take naps when you can.
  • Ask Grandma or a close friend to take the kids for a day so that you can get some sleep.
  • Allow your husband to put the kids to bed a couple of nights a week so that you can get to bed earlier.
  • Surround yourself with other women who get it

If you’re anything like me, the need to do it all makes you feel like a badass. You feel desired and cherished and loved when people tell you how awesome you are forgetting all that stuff done with everything you have going on.

You may look like you have it all together but you don’t. On the inside, you’re drained, overwhelmed, tired, and just ready for a break but you’re afraid to ask for the support you want.

Your mind tells you you’re weak when you ask for support. That is a BS story sister and you know it. I want you to seriously take a step back and outside of yourself – if your sister or best friend came to you and told you how tired, overwhelmed and flustered she feels what would you say to her? You’d offer to help! You’d offer support. You’d tell her it’s ok to ask for what you need because you have to give it to yourself, others aren’t’ mind readers. Thank you for telling me this, it makes me feel so loved and trusted that you came to me asking for support.

Feel how much better you feel when you help her. Imagine how amazing she feels being able to have the help! Imagine how much relief she feels when she learns her world won’t come crashing down when she says she can’t do it all anymore.

She (you) are happier, less overwhelmed, less flustered, actually sleeping, actually getting the support you need.

Let’s be real, you deserve an award for all you do. You raise a family, still, get work done, keep the house as organized as possible while still managing to keep yourself and your kids alive every day.

Yes, you deserve an award girl.

I know there are days when you don’t shower because you finally had the chance to take a nap or sleep in for just a few more minutes after a long night of teething, cluster feeding, poopy diapers and just being exhausted.

I know there are times you feel like no one sees you, understands you, or cares about all you sacrifice daily to make sure your kids and family are happy and healthy. I see you.

I know there are days when all you want to do is escape from those crazy little people who scream and threw a tantrum at the grocery store. I know sometimes you just want to be alone to pee. I know sometimes you just want to be anywhere else.

I know there are days where you feel like you have your and your kid’s shit together – those are the days you’re superwoman.

I also know there are the days you lock yourself in your bedroom closet to just get a moment to cry to release all the emotions because you’re tired, you’re exhausted, you feel alone.

Hear this – you are doing an amazing job. You are not alone even if it feels like it and you’re going to be ok.

There will be times when you feel like you can’t do it all. It’s ok. You don’t need to do it all. All that matters right now is the next small step – just one.

I know the world is more beautiful today than it was yesterday because of the work you’re doing, because of the family you’re raising.

I know you fear the world your child is born into and it worries you. But you continue to support them, raise them and make sure everything that has to happen happens.

I know you’re an amazing mom.

Let me tell you in case no one has today, “You are doing a great job. And trust me, you are going to be okay.”

You’ve got this.

Becca, xoxo
